2024 June 11 - Trip to Victor, CO to See Giant Troll Statue and Drive Down Phantom Canyon Road (Published: 2024-05-11)
Cathy and Joe R. take a 133 mile round trip to try out our 2019 Nissan Leaf all electric car. Our main destination is to visit Rita the Rock Planter Giant Troll statue just outside Victor, Colorado. Then we take an exciting and beautiful drive down the 30+ mile dirt road, Phantom Canyon Rd. Then we have dinner at Quincy's Steak House in Florence, CO. We had a gorgeous 10+ hour day.

Cathy and Joe R. drive 5 hours, 241 miles, to Montrose, Colorado and spend 5 days there. We had 3 objectives: Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the newly remodeled Ute Indian Museum and taking a private guided tour of the Shavano Petroglyphs Rock Art. We start the Christmas season early with a visit from Cathy's second cousin, Jonathan, from Denver along with his parents, Patrick (Cathy's first cousin) and Cyndi. We attend the Christmas Program at Holt's school, do some family photos at Grammy and Grampy's, have our traditional Grammy Luciano's hommade ravioli family dinner, visit our friends Nancy and Atis in Palmer Lake, Colorado and do our annual tour and family dinner at the Broadmoor Hotel.

2022 October 24-29 - Santa Fe Trip (Published: 2023-03-14)
Cathy and Joe R. drive from Colorado Springs to spend 5 nights in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We wind up staying at the El Rey Court Hotel (it is quite a story) and visit the New Mexico State Capitol Building with it's fabulous art displays, some of downtown Santa Fe with the Native American Market and then the small town of Chimayo, NM with the world famous El Santuario de Chimayo.

2022 September 1-11 Joe, Amamda and Holt Take a Family Vacation in Hawaii
Holt, Momma and Dada go to Hawaii for Holt's first off mainland U.S. family vacation. They stay in a resort at Mauna Kea on the island of Hawaii, "The Big Island". They get to see an active volcano, where they watch a spectacula sunset over the Pacific Ocean, play with octopi, enjoy the tropical scenry and eat fabulous meals.

in the outdoor fossil gravel pit.

This time we are joined for 2-nights by Joe A., Amanda and Holt - our first vacation all together away from home. We all get
to enjoy the hot springs at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort. After Joe A., Amanda and Holt leave, Cathy and Joe R. visit and
explore the ghost town of St. Elmo, the best preserved ghost town in Colorado and take the drive to the summit of Cottonwood Pass
at 12,126 feet altitude and then visit the Buena Vista Depot Transportation Museum.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo here in Colorado Springs and Grammy and Grampy took the Aunts on a scenic drive to the town of Breckenridge,
driving over three Rocky Mountain Passes.
