Well, this was our Family trip of a lifetime. We were celebrating Joe's graduation from Rampart High School (he was one of 12 valedictorians in a class of 365), our 30th wedding anniversary, and Joe's 18th birthday. We were also excited about showing Joe the land of his ancestors and family heritage. We chose Trafalgar Tours, The Best of Italy, from June 1st through June 14th, because of the comprehensive itinerary and reasonable cost. It provided a good overall introduction to the most important/famous sights in Italy. We also booked 4 extra days on our own in Rome at the end. we made reservations over the Internet at Pensione Erdarelli, a small family-run hotel near the Spanish Steps.
We were also fortunate in being able to get the new Nikon Coolpix 950 digital camera just before we left. So all the photos you see here were taken with this new amazing camera. All were taken hand-held, most in only available light without flash, and many utilized the optional add-on Nikon WC-E24 wide angle adapter lens. The Coolpix 950 performed flawlessly. The only problems I encountered were my lack of understanding of all the intricate features and capabilities of the camera.
