2024 July 26-29 - Westcliffe Family Trip to See Solar Viewing Party, Stars and Railroad Museum (Published: 2024-08-09)

2024 June 11 - Trip to Victor, CO to See Giant Troll Statue and Drive Down Phantom Canyon Road (Published: 2024-05-11)
Cathy and Joe R. take a 133 mile round trip to try out our 2019 Nissan Leaf all electric car. Our main destination is to visit Rita the Rock Planter Giant Troll statue just outside Victor, Colorado. Then we take an exciting and beautiful drive down the 30+ mile dirt road, Phantom Canyon Rd. Then we have dinner at Quincy's Steak House in Florence, CO. We had a gorgeous 10+ hour day.

2024 January 27 - Holt, Grammy amd Grampy go to Breckenridge to See the Snow Sculptures (Published: 2024-02-25)
Grammy and Grampy take Holt to Breckenridge to see the International Snow Sculptures Competition for his first time. We also take a short 400 foot hike into the woods to see the wooden Troll sculpture.

2023 September 25-29 - Montrose, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Ute Indian Museum and the Shavano Petroglyphs Rock Art Tour (Published: 2024-03-04)
Cathy and Joe R. drive 5 hours, 241 miles, to Montrose, Colorado and spend 5 days there. We had 3 objectives: Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the newly remodeled Ute Indian Museum and taking a private guided tour of the Shavano Petroglyphs Rock Art. Our knowledgeable guide, Alma L. Evans, Phd., was phenomonal. Don't miss the Videos Page in that section for detailed descriptions of some of the petroglyphs.

2021 October 2-6 - Cathy and Joe R. go to Grand Junction for an R&R Getaway
We go to Grand Junction, Colorado for a 4-night R&R stay and have dinners at some great local restaurants, enjoy the wine tasting and tour of Two Rivers Winery and
Chateau, have a special lavender based drink at Highlands Distillery, tour the spectacular Colorado National Monument, and take in the astounding peak Fall colors
of Colorado during the 6 hour drive to and from Grand Junction.

2021 September 15-19 - Holt with Grammy and Grampy go to Buena Vista and take the Leadville Scenic Train Ride
Grammy and Grampy take Holt to Buena Vista for a 4-night stay and go to the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and Spa, and take the scenic 2 1/2 hour train ride from Leadville.

2021 June 2-7 - Buena Vista, Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, St. Elmo Ghost Town, and Cottonwood Pass
Cathy and Joe R. try again (and succeed) for a 5-night stay (June 2nd-6th) at the rental house in Buena Vista, Colorado.
This time we are joined for 2-nights by Joe A., Amanda and Holt - our first vacation all together away from home. We all get
to enjoy the hot springs at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort. After Joe A., Amanda and Holt leave, Cathy and Joe R. visit and
explore the ghost town of St. Elmo, the best preserved ghost town in Colorado and take the drive to the summit of Cottonwood Pass
at 12,126 feet altitude and then visit the Buena Vista Depot Transportation Museum.

2016 July 29-31 - Crestone, 2016 Under the Stars UFO Conference, San Luis and Fort Garland (Published: 2023-03-16)
We drive to Crestone, Colorado in the middle of the mysterious San Luis Valley to stay in the Sangre de Cristo Inn for a couple of nights in order to attend the 2016 Under the Stars UFO Conference at the UFO Watchtower in Hooper, CO. The featured speaker was Travis Walton who had a well-witnessed 5-day UFO abduction experience in Arizona in 1975. We also visit San Luis, CO, the oldest town in Colorado, and then Fort Garland, CO where Kit Carson was once commander.

Cripple Creek, Colorado to view the annual Cripple Creek Ice Festival. There were some very elaborate and fantastical sculptures in ice
displayed on Main Street.

2008 August 29-31 - The Mysterious San Luis Valley, Colorado with Joe & Jesse
Over labor Weekend, we traveled to the San Luis Valley with our son Joe and his girlfriend Jesse. The Valley is located
Southwest of Colorado Springs. We stayed at Crestone, Colorado. and attended the 19th Annual Crestone Energy and Sustainability Fair.
We would also see a Tibetan Memorial Park, visit the Shumei International Institute, and the Buddhist Stupa of Enlighenment.
We traveled to Hooper, Colorado. to visit the UFO Watch Tower. Just outside of Hooper we stopped to see the wonderment
of The Great Sand Dunes National Park.

We tour some very scenic parts of northeast Utah, southern Idaho and southwest Colorado with Jimmy & Flo.

the Oregon/California Trail Center, and scenic environs in Idaho, and then we take the Durango and Silverton
Narrow Gauge Railroad up through the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
