Introduction

After leaving Bear Country U.S.A., Joe A. suggested we go into Custer State Park and drive Wildlife Loop Road to see if we could find the Buffalo herd that he and his dad, Joe R., saw in 2018 when we went on the Black Hills Sound of Silence Tesla Rally Road Trip.

Not only did we have a beautifully scenic drive through Custer State Park, but we also saw Prairie Dogs and - yes, a herd of Buffalo - a large herd 200-300 strong with calves! You MUST view the Videos Page to get a sense of how exciting and scary it was to have these massive wild animals walk right up to and alongside our car.
