Like his Dad at Holt's age, Holt has a love and fascination with Dinosaurs. So, we have found ourselves once again researching and visiting Dinosaur museums here in Colorado. Actually, Colorado is known for its wealth of Dinosaur findings. It all started In 1877, when Arthur Lakes, once a professor at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, and well-known in Colorado history for dinosaur research made, his first discovery. During this time, 15 quarries opened near Morrison, Colorado with discoveries made in various other locations. One of them is Cañon City, CO where the new and exciting Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience opened up in June of 2016.

The Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience gives kids of all ages the opportunity to experience interactive displays, full casts of dinosaur bones, hands on exhibits with real dinosaur fossils and skinned ANIMATRONIC life-size dinosaurs on the Dinosaur Wild Walk, a huge outdoor area populated by the beasts in their natural setting. The most exciting activity for Holt and Grampy was digging in the gravel pit to unearth the plaster cast of a dinosaur skeleton.
