On March 31, 2016, Joe A., Amanda and Joe R. (not yet Grampy drove up to the Tesla showroom in Park Meadows Mall, just South of Denver, for Joe A. to place his order for the yet to be produced Tesla Model 3 electric car. That was the first day they started taking orders for this new model. There was a line snaking through the mall and out into the parking lot. The three of us stood in line for over 3 hours! It was so exciting and we got to talk with many excited Tesla fans in line. After about a year, Joe A. decided the wait was going to be too long for the delivery of this new model. So, he switched his order to the more readily available and more mature Model S. He looks back with no regrets.

On December 8, 2017, a year and 9 months after placing the initial order, Amanda and Joe A. drove up to the new Tesla showroom in Denver to pick up his new cherry red Tesla Model S, while we watched Holt at our house in Colorado Springs. On their way back they stopped by to show us their new gorgeous acquisition and give us a ride.

On January 11, 2020, his Dada took Holt (just 2 1/2) to a parking lot near their home to let him "drive" the Tesla Model S, now 2 years old Holt got his first try at driving a car, and an electric one at that!

Just 6 months later, on his 3rd birthday (June 17, 2020), Grammy and Grampy gave Holt his OWN red electric car, which he proudly showed off in our driveway and drove it there on June 22, 2020. About a week later we took him up to Dublin Park, just a couple of blocks up the hill from our house to drive it on the more spacious concrete basketball court. where his Dada joined us, appropriately wearing his red Tesla T-shirt.
