We take a 3-day R&R trip to Aspen and Maroon Bells via Twin Lakes and Independence Pass to view the spectacular Colorado mountain scenery and gorgeous golden fall colors of the Aspen Trees. The total 156 mile trip would take a little over 4 hours without stopping, but of course, we had to stop many times to view and photograph the spectaculr scenery. The Twin Lakes area and Independence Pass have some of the most spectacular scenery in Colorado. Once in Aspen, in addition to strolling through downtown, we also take a couple of side trips to visit the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness to see one of the most photgraphed mountain formations in Colorado and also to visit the John Denver Sanctuary in downtown Aspen. The drive home through the Twin Lakes area was even more spectacularly beautiful, as the fall colors were at their peak! Cathy & Joe R. |
