Introduction

In June 1994, the three of us plus our dog, Fluffy, take a family trip to Colorado, one of our most favorite places to visit on our many vacations since 1972. This was the first time for Joe A. (and Fluffy).

We drove from our home in Central New York towing our Jayco pop-up camper. Our first stop was the wonderfully scenic Rocky Mountain National Park in Northern Colorado. We then drove down to Colorado Springs to take the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,115 feet altitude. We then drove further South to see the Royal Gorge Bridge in Canon City, Colorado. Then up North again to visit Cripple Creek, an historical gold mining (now gambling) town, then to the Florrisant Fossil Beds National Monument in Florrisant, Colorado.

On our drive home we stopped in Dyersville, Iowa to see the actual Field of Dreams from the movie and Joe A. and Joe R. "had a catch".
